Experiments with line, movement and time.
Recently I began to realise that traditional, static representation was not embodying the direct experiences I was having whilst walking in the landscape. There had been a disconnect between my activities out in the world and my work in the studio. As well as beginning to experiment with film, I have been making these experimental line drawings that encompass duration and movement through a landscape. This is an ongoing project. I have mostly been working in the limestone hills near Burton, Farleton and Hutton Roof and out on the expansive mudflats of Morecambe Bay. I have published the drawings in chronological order so I can see any development over time.
