Walking along the coast brings a sense of freedom and wonder. The rapidly changing conditions and geometries that play across the wide open space, grab my attention and take my breath away. I walk in the same places throughout the seasons – out on The Bay itself, and along the promenades and footpaths where the built environment meets with nature. I’ve been walking The Bay for as long as I can remember, yet for many years shied away from painting this overwhelming space. The paintings were inevitable though, it just took a while to find the right attitude with which to make them. I started this body of work in 2017 and look forward to seeing how it develops over time. The most recent work is shown first.
